Updates
July 21th, 2008
Today is Monday, yipee. Everyone hates Mondays, right? Me too! But I'm working on the site today after I came back from vacation. I might be making a couple of posts with some characters, unsure as of now. Equinox will be receiving a new map due to the changes lately, also here's what's happened, just to catch you up. No it isn't real! =3 Just a plot for Equinox, please make sure your characters are affected by this.
New plot!
All over the ground fluorescent markings, symbols and odd lines have been forming all through out Equinox, it was something the Aztecan had foretold to happen many centuries ago, that the earth would go through some fast-time scheming and the geographical patterns would change dramatically. The large land masses are splitting and reforming, and many places. Trees sprout where there are none, and the natural creatures are changing. Some of the fish have begun to glow in the waters, creating an odd natural lighting in many places, lands are disappearing while others remain, or new ones sprout from the undergrowth. Autumn isn't over, but the colors are no longer blank, but rather bright.

You've got almost everything you need here: Rules, Current Plot, History, etc. You must read the rules in order to join The Equinox. A password is needed in order to get into the joining board, which is cleverly located in the Rules. Also, it'll help if you read, or at least skim, everything in order to get a better feel for the game. We're not your ordinary wild horse role play.
Before you can start posting on The Equinox, you need to post here and wait to be accepted by a staff member. A form is needed to join, which is posted within this bored. Also, an example post is required in order to join. The password to get into this board is located in the rules, so read them carefully!
Every month the staff posts some surprises and some disasters. Equines who participate in this are chosen randomly and can only be chosen once every rotation. One rotation means we get everyone else (not every character) into this atleast once. Remember, you won't be in this every time. And Surprises are good, while Disasters are bad.
Ruled by New York, the city now a beautiful structure, free of confusion, pollution and the hustle and bustle, but still busy none the less. It has always been a clearly fought over land, the North is peaceful, but have their own disputes within themselves. The lands can be harsh and are mostly cold, but can reach humid conditions in some places.
The Southern lands are a little harsher than the others. The animals here are wilder and more exotic, with Elephants rolling over the deserts and savannas. The humans hadn’t modernized it very well, save for the few major cities, and so it lies mostly as it had been; pure wilderness. Many types of specialized predators lie in the shadows, ready to pounce, but if you bother to brave the dangers, you’re richly awarded with beauty and bountiful resources.
The west are a mixed region, partly dry in some places, while the others are filled with lush grasses and old deserted farms. Many of the orignial dairy cows have died from the lack of their human counterparts, but roaming cattle are a big part of the society here in the west. They are slow creatures, stubborn and get there way, but are a great asset to the Westerners. The summers are dry and the winters are very harsh.
These lands are lush and exotic, the air filled with the constant smell of spices and warm, damp earth. Weird and wonderful creatures fill the lands, and the mountains are tipped with a smattering of snow. The rains can come with a vengeance, but other than that, the climate is stable and warm.
Not much is known about the corner band, all that is known is they have a prize territory, filled with plenty of adventurous things. Rumors are heard about the many ideas for a new name, and maybe acceptance into the winds. But the last to ever be accepted was the Northeast, and that was hundreds of years ago. The climate is always hot, dry and has a yearly rainy season.
This is a land where the banished go. Young colts that have been kicked out of their herds, stallions whom do not have a herd, or horses that have been banished from their kingdoms all travel here to stay. It is located near Mt. Everest, and has a very rocky terrain. Although near the mountain, little snow reaches it. The land is well sheltered and well nourished. Pools of water flow down the mountain from the melted snow caps, and grass is plentiful to be seen. This land is also made of some forest parts, and some of it goes inside the mountain as well.
A small land on what was Hawaii, Valde is a land where battles take place. It is a large battlefield with various terrain. It changes from a dense forest, to an open meadow, to a barren field. The forest is heavily populated with trees, and is easy to get lost in. The open meadow is the largest part of Valde, and somehow looks as if never to be fought upon with it's lush grasses and flowers. A barren field is the second largest part of Valde, and holds many battle scars and is often the most fought upon land. Stallions come here to fight for mares and lands, and mares come here to fight for ranks and foals.
A once prosperous land settled around the Great Lakes, Aeris is a home to those whose herd does not have a land. Stallions with a mare, but no herd travel here while they await for a challenge. This land is fairly large with nothing but forest and a few fields within it. The forests are not heavily densed at all, and hold many other creatures inside of it. The Great Lakes themselves are still around and provide the clearest and purist water in The Equinox.
Novus, meaning "new" in Latin, is a land where all Winds come together. It is the first of the lands on Equinox, but has only a few stories to tell. This land is made of all beaches with pure white soft sand. The ocean here is wilder than in other places, but can also be placid and shallow at times. Good vegetation isn't easy to be found here, unless you're into eating seaweed. A number of shipwrecks have gathered up along the cost, and some masts can still be seen. One valiant ship is still accessible, and is easy to get onto. Only half of it is submerged in water, and the other half provides a great view of the ocean beyond.
This once was a land that man had used often. It is located on none other than Paris and the surrounding cities. Palea is an open land to all Winds. It's center is the worn down and destroyed city of Paris. Buildings are collapsed, and the Eifell Tower is long gone. grass has grown through the concrete, and trees are growing plentiful again. There is open fields that man had never touched near it, with small streams and one river going through it. Nature has grown around the cars and the buildings, and in a few more generations you won't be able to tell you're standing on what was the great city of Paris, the city of lights.
Briar is another open land to all the Winds. It is located on what was Mexico. It is generally a warm place, but has little grass to graze on. A large waterfall flows into a crystal clear pool below. This pool has various streams leading off it that go into the Rio Grande river. Briar is mainly a forest land, and where there is not forest there is nothing but barren fields. The forests are ancient, past the days of man. Because of this, the trees are bigger here than they are anywhere else. They hold many scars that tell stories and the forest itself is said to have a mystical feel to it, and sometimes one as if you're not alone.
Here you can talk about anything you want with the other members of The Equinox. Make polls, post a story you've written, talk about your good or bad day, ask for opinions, whatever you'd like can be put onto this board!
